MWAMBU LEADS YOUTH EMPOWERMENT DRIVE
The Bumula Member of Parliament Hon. Mwambu Mabongah has this afternoon,renewed his resolve to oversee empowerment of Bumula youth,in a function he presided over at Siboti dispensary.
Speaking at the event Hon. Mwambu reminded the populace that his resolve to turn around the lives of the youth did not just end at the campaigns,reaffirming his plans and promises to the people and laying bare a clear roadmap to achieving his blueprint for the youth.
"As I promised during the campaigns, I am here to show you a sample of how I will be running my development agenda: I am in partnership with like minded people and corporates to ensure that a large junk of Bumula youth are on the path to wealth and employment creation,even before my five year term elapses." He said.
The MP reminded the youth of how his collaboration with the USAID funded K-YES program had seen youth get trained in masonry, carpentry,hairdressing and dressmaking,an initiative that informed the procurement of sewing machines for the graduants.
The Bumula MP took a swipe at a section of leaders who have been clinging on party politics at the expense of development warning them that the people will not care whom they abused,but rather they will need to know what the leaders have done for them for the time they have served.
".....My brothers who have been bent on unnecessary politics that has been being laced by hate and abuse. Politics is over. The President has been sworn in. Everything is in place. Do not waste time abusing leaders,some of which are clearly above your level. Instead,use this opportunity to seek collaborations that will assist you deliver on your promises. I know you(the voters) would want to see who did what,where during the five years that we shall have served" said Hon. Mabongah amid applause.
On security,the MP raised issue with an ever escalating security situation in the constituency. He said that he had sought audience with whoever is charged with the docket and had made it clear that those culpable must be brought to book. He also promised a rapid exercise that will see major changes that will help curb the vice.
During the event the MP handed over 20 sewing machines to a self help group,an affiliate of Cherehani Africa,NGO. He also gave the group Ksh. 10,000 seed capital,to kick start their business. He promised not to tire until every youth is empowered.
