SPEND LESS ON CIRCUMCISION, MP ADVISES CONSTITUENTS.



Bumula MP Hon. Mwambu Mabongah as urged parents of teenagers who are set to undergo circumcision in August to spend sparingly during the rites set to kick off on August 1.

"It is our custom to have our young men involve in circumcision. Much as it is a rite of passage,the celebrations accompanying the rite should not be extravagant to the extend of forgetting the future. Spend sparingly. Remember,the goat you slaughter may save you when time to pay fees comes," the legislator opined.

More Time to Studies.
He also cautioned prospective initiates against spending too much time on the preparations for the cut instead dedicate more time to studies.

"To prospective candidates: the excitement for the cut should not derail you from the realities of your future. Concentrate on books and assisting parents. The cut is a single day affair. Education and parents will guide your destiny," he advised.

Mwambu was speaking today at Muanda in South Bukusu ward during the burial of former councillor Beka's son.
