EUGENE BACK TO THE CABINET AS PRESIDENT UHURU NAMES HIS MINISTERS
President Uhuru Kenyatta has named the list of persons he wishes to work with as he gears up to deliver on his promises of the 'Big 4' as envisaged in his inauguration speech.
The move has ended weeks of speculation that have seen barbs aimed at former water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Ludovic Wamalwa. Wamalwa had missed out on the entire list raising brows as to whether he would be in cabinet; his political nemeses claiming he had been 'used and dumped.'
However,political leaders from the region had heightened hope of their son being included in the list of ministers,with the Senate speaker Ken Lusaka,Bumula MP Mwambu Mabongah and Didmus Barasa of Kimilili imploring for patience from the Mulembe nation,promising that they will make it their business to ensure Uhuru considers Luhyas beyong the appointment of Wanyama Musiambo as Deputy Head of Public Service.
Their word can now be authenticated.
Aside from Wamalwa,other ministers named include:
Uhuru's cabinet:
Margaret Kobia who will be in charge of the Public service,John Munyes, who will hold the lucrative Petroleum Mining ministry.
Racheal Omamo will retain the ministry of Defense while Monica Juma will be CS Foreign Affairs,taking over from Ambassador Amina Mohammed who moves to the Ministry of Education.
Others in the list are:
1. Simon Chergue- CS Water.
2. Keraiko Tobiko- CS Environment
3. Aden Mohammed- CS Industrialusation.
4. James Macharia- CS Transport.
5. Joseph Mucheru- CS ICT.
6. Sicily Kariuki- CS health
7. Rashid Achesa- CS Sports.
8. Najib Balala- CS Tourism.
9. Farida Karoney- CS lands
10. Ukkur Yattany-CS Labour
11. Peter Munya -CS East African Community.
Ambassadors named alongside Uhuru's cabinet include:
Judy wakhungu, France;Kiema kilonzo Uganda;Dan kazungu, Tanzania;
Lazarus Amaio, UN;Phyllis Kandie,Belgium;Willy Bett, India and
Jacob Kaimenyi,the UNEP.
