RESOLVE THE SUGAR ISSUE AS YOUR LEGACY TO THE MULEMBE NATION,MWAMBU TELLS PRESIDENT UHURU.

The Bumula Member of Parliament Hon. Mwambu Mabongah has asked President Kenyatta to unravel the sugar puzzle if he thinks he should leave a legacy worth recognition by the Luhya nation.

Speaking at various functions over the weekend the MP  averred that the government knows what ails the industry and challenged the country's leadership to resolve it so that the economy of Western region and the country can gain momentum.

The legislator reminisced how the President's father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta gave the Mulembe nation a pedestal to growth by founding the establishment of three factories, noting the irony and satire that the same factories may go down during Mzee Jomo's son's era.

"Mzee Jomo Kenyatta gave us three factories. PanPaper in 1969,Mumias in 1971 and Nzoia Sugar in 1978. The Mulembe nation remembers him for this.
His son President Uhuru Kenyatta, whom we respect a lot and walked with in his quests, must not keep quiet when the very factories are at stake.
Which legacy will the President leave in the mind of a sugar farmer when he exits? Will he be remembered for undoing the strides his father has made? Will you,Mr. President be remembered for meting grief to the Western region farmer and economy?," Mwambu quipped when addressing leaders and citizens at the Silver Jubilee celebrations in honour of Fr. Pius Lukhale of Kimatuni Parish.

His sentiments were echoed by leaders present and further reverberated to Hon. Vitalis Wangila's homecoming and thanks giving for his election as MCA Kabula ward.

The Bumula lawmaker has been at the forefront against the illegal sugar imports into the country a development that has seen him lock horns with barons.
