PRIORITIZE TEACHER EMPLOYMENT, MWAMBU URGES MINISTRY,TSC.

The Bumula Member of Parliament Hon. Mwambu Mabongah has urged the Ministry of Education to fast track teacher employment in its grand education policy if the nation wishes to benefit from the anticipated new talent based curriculum.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of The St. Paul's Diploma TTC Kibabii held at their Syombe campus, the legislator raised issue with the policy of teacher employment crafted by TSC which disadvantages diploma teachers during interviews.
" It is ironical how we invest in educating these teachers yet we devalue them at interviews. I feel the education ministry should sit down and harmonise issues touching on teacher employment because the economy depends on a teacher. I am a product of education, the Principal of this school is a product of education. Even the presidential of this nation is a product of education.
I appeal for synergy of individual resolves in advocating for employment of teachers in this country,"said Mabongah.

The firebrand maker pledged to support education as his priority agenda promising to double bursary beneficiaries this financial year.
"Last year this institution received over Ksh. 0.35m in bursaries. This indicates my resolve to prioritize education both at primary, tertiary and university. I encourage all of you who are my constituents to apply. I intend to double the allocation," the MP added.

The function was attended by Prof Yegon of the Ministry of Education, Kimilili MP Didmas Barasa, the Bunga County Director of Education, Kimaeti MCA Jackson Ouma Wambulwa and a host of other leaders.
