IMPLEMENT DAM PROJECT CAUTIOUSLY ,MABONGAH URGES

The Bumula Member of Parliament Hon. Mwambu Mabongah has urged the Ministry of Water and Irrigation to implement the Ksh. 4.6 billion Sio-Sango irrigation project with caution calling for full public participation and stakeholder consultation to ensure that the local community owns it. The project involves construction of a dam a long River Sio in Talitia to provide water for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation and domestic uses in Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega counties. Mabongah was responding to concerns raised by residents of Talitia village, Kabula ward today during a fact finding mission, a function that was attended by the Water CS Simon Chelugui and his Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa together with governors Wycliffe Wangamati (Bungoma) and Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia county). OVER 1.4 MILLION RAISED FOR BODABODA AS MWAMBU LEADS LEADERS ON A LAP OF EMPOWERMENT

Bumula MP Hon. Mwambu Mabongah led leaders under the guidance of the Senate Speaker  Ken Lusaka, Sports CS Rashid Achesa, Jubilee Majority Chief Whip and Mumias  East MP Hon. Benjamin Washiali, Hon. Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Hon. Dan Wanyama (Webuye  West), Hon. Malulu Injendi (Malaga), Hon. John Waluke (Sirisia), Hon  Marwa (Kuria  Est) and a host of other leaders in a funds drive aimed at empowering Bodaboda  in the constituency. The funds drive, which saw the legislator give his personal donation of Ksh.100,000, raised Ksh. 1.41m that will be used to fund empowerment  programmes for the motorcycle riders. SCHOOLS BENEFIT AS MWAMBU LAYS FOUNDATION STONES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CLASSES; SUSTAINS QUEST TO RID CONSTITUENCY OF MUD WALLED HOUSES.

Bumula MP Hon. Mwambu Mabongah has stepped up his quest to rid Bumula of mudwalled classes. Today,the legislator laid foundation stones for construction of classrooms at St. Elizabeth Wacholi Primary School in West Bukusu ward, Napara ACK Primary School in Siboti ward and Mundaa Primary School in Khasoko ward. The development will see the schools get three classrooms each. Communities applauded Hon. Mabongah for his hands on approach in ensuring that schools get developed and good quality classrooms and other infrastructure. "This school has had problems for very long. Pupils have been learning from under the trees FOR YEARS. We like our MP for trying to address this. We will never forget," said one happy woman. BUMULA ON COURSE TO BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE IN SCHOOLS AS MWAMBU LEADS MPs TO AN INSPECTION TOUR OF PROGRESS.

The long standing dalliance of Bumula with poor infrastructural establishment in schools is slowly being done away with. This is courtesy of the area Member of Parliament Hon. Mwambu Mabongah in his quest to rid the constituency of mud walled classrooms and 'under the tree schools.' Today,the legislator led the Parliamentary Select Committee on CDF in inspecting projects to which he issued cheques a fortnight ago. The team toured Mutua Primary School & Khasoko D.O's Office as sampled by the CDF board. The progress in construction exuded a commitment from the Project Management team and the implementing contractors,with the Department of Public Works giving the workmanship a clean bill of health. President Kenyatta signs into law the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Bill, 2018

President Uhuru Kenyatta has today signed into law the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Bill 2018 that criminalizes abuse of persons on social media, removing the legal lacuna that existed. The Act – which spells out stiff punishment to cybercriminals –provides for timely and effective detection, prohibition, prevention, response, investigation and prosecution of computer and cybercrimes. This includes search and seizure of stored computer data, record of and access to seized data, production order for data, expedited preservation, partial disclosure, real-time collection and interception of data. The Act establishes the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee and facilitates international co-operation in dealing with computer and cybercrime matters. Our real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.9 percent in 2017, much higher than 3.6 percent for World Real GDP and 2.6 percent for sub-Saharan Africa real GDP. Even more encouraging was the performance of our tourism sector; tourism earnings grew twenty per cent — proof that even when our politics is at its hottest, Kenya keeps its visitors’ confidence. OVER 1,000 MORE BRIGHT BUT NEEDY BENEFIT AS MWAMBU SUSPENDS SOME PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION.

An extra 1,000 needy but bright students from Bumula Constituency will benefit from the bursaries scheme as the Member of Parliament moves to clear any issues to do with bursaries. Speaking at the Bumula Constituency offices where he held talks with parents and students before directing that they be issued with cheques,the MP explained how the bursary process was conducted,noting that the Ksh. 21m budgeted for bursaries had been exhausted. However,the legislator directed his CDF Committee to suspend the purchase of an office vehicle so as the funds are channeled towards satisfying every other bursary applicants. "You the people were involved in the public vetting exercise. I made it public so that the boardroom theatrics cannot be witnessed.
